From an ancient Roman statue (A.D. 69-96) of a vigorous Hercules to Lucas Cranach the Younger’s (German, 1515-1586) alluring Nymph of the Spring (ca. 1545-50), Frederick William MacMonnies’s (American, 1863-1937) jubilant bronze Bacchante and Infant Faun (1893-94, cast 1894) to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec’s (French, 1864-1901) reflective Woman before a Mirror (1897), this deck presents select nudes of The Met as depicted through time and across mediums.
